Our Teachers

Jess Anderly (she/her)
Jess is a lifelong singer and Suzuki-trained violinist who also plays ukulele, cello, and some foot percussion. She spent several years touring professionally, performing original music across the country. Jess first experienced Music Together as a parent and quickly discovered it was the most joyful time she share with her child. Jess believes that music is a natural part of life and that everyone, big and small, has a voice worth sharing. She loves the way the program invites everyone to be part of the music and is passionate about helping families connect through singing, movement, and play.

Joell Bradshaw (she/her)
Joell studied voice and has sung in choirs, ensembles, and musicals. With her background in ballet and jazz dancing, she infuses her Music Together classes with movement. Joell has a Master's degree in Social Work, and recently earned a certificate in Interpersonal Biology. She also plays guitar and loves to sing with her two sons. She holds Music Together Certification Level 1. 

Heather Delaney (she/her)
Heather has a bachelor's degree in Music Therapy, is a former preschool and early childhood tumbling teacher, and has a strong background working with children with special needs. She is co-director for the Grotto Carolers and sings with them each holiday season. Heather is passionate about providing an environement that supports musical connections within, and between, families. 

Avery Hill (she/her)
Avery is a singer-songwriter, storyteller, and ukulele teacher with a Masters of Education. She has taught everywhere from a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool to high school English classes in Germany; from a Kindergarten class in Vermont to an outdoor school on Bainbridge Island. She has taught music classes exclusively now for almost 10 years and has really found her home here.  

Jennifer Holman (she/her)
Jennifer performs and sings Broadway and Jazz selections, in choirs, musical theater productions, as a soloist, and in a women's quartet. She is the Bell Choir Director at Rose City Park UMC and plays flute. A long-time Music Together parent, she is thrilled to teach the "science" behind what we do in class.

Lenka Jensen (she/her)
Lenka recently moved to Portland with her family from San Francisco, where she taught Music Together for 11 years. She plays ukulele, guitar, and piano; has a Masters of Education and a Master of Arts in Early Childhood; and holds Music Together Certification Level 1. We are so happy to welcome her to the Music Together of Portland community! 

Betsy LeVine (she/her)
Betsy worked as a preschool teacher in both Montessori and charter schools for 5 years before jumping joyously into her role as a Music Together teacher. Her love for children and natural silliness combined with singing and playing guitar helps families feel at home in her classes. She has taught Israeli folk dancing and lent her voice to bands around Portland.  

Stephanie O'Leary (she/her)
Stephanie holds a masters in musicology from Indiana University's Jacob School of Music. From a young age, she has studied piano and sung in choirs. Stephanie has a wide appetite for music and pretty much loves every genre and style out there, but especially Baroque keyboard music, Renaissance motets, Romantic and modern classical, musical theater, contemporary choral music, and sound sculptures and improvisational music. But, nothing lights her up more than sharing the experience of music-making, and she is delighted to be teaching with Music Together of Portland!

Bindhu Pathakota (she/her)
Bindhu has over 20 years of training in Indian classical music and comes from a musical family. Her mother was her first teacher, and music has always been a shared experience across generations—they continue to sing and practice together at family gatherings. She has led workshops blending cultural traditions, such as teaching a fusion of African folk and Indian classical music to children in India, and looks forward to creating more cross-cultural community experiences through music and art. She believes all children are innately musical and is passionate about creating joyful, inclusive spaces where kids and caregivers can explore music together.

Jillian Rhodes (she/her)
Jillian has sung in choirs, vocal ensembles, and garage bands and has a background in modern and social dance. Her years of experience teaching dance and creative movement and her classroom teaching experience reflect her love of working with children. Jillian sings and plays guitar and ukulele, and loves kitchen dance parties and writing silly songs with her 10-year-old daughter. 

Audrey Sackett (she/her)
Audrey is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory with a Master's degree in vocal performance. In addition to her performance career, Audrey teaches music at The Madeleine School. You can find her in our Music Together classrooms during the summer session, when school is out for summer break!

Hannah Treuhaft (she/her)
Hannah is a founding Ensemble Member of Sojourn Theater, where, in addition to performing and creating, she was Education Director for many years. She taught middle school Theater and History at the Portland Jewish Academy. Hannah plays guitar and piano, and loves keeping up with and making music with her two boys.
