Fall session registration is now under way! Session runs Sept 15-Nov 22. We hope you can join us!

Music Together® Hybrid

Join us for our winter session!
Classes begin January 10.

We're excited to continue to offer both Hybrid: Indoor/Outdoor classes and Fully Indoor classes this winter! We are committed to doing our best to mitigate the continued risks associated with COVID-19 by reducing our class sizes, practicing social distancing, enhancing sanitation, and improving ventilation. In addition, all teachers are fully vaccinated, and ALL ADULTS ATTENDING CLASSES INDOORS MUST BE VACCINATED.

Hybrid Classes: It might be hard to believe right now, but the sun does sometimes shine in the Pacific Northwest during the winter! Hybrid classes will generally meet indoors, but will head outside to the open air when the weather is suitable (i.e. not too cold, wet, or muddy). When indoors, we will follow all recommended health and safety protocols, including open windows and doors and good cross-ventilation, air purifiers with HEPA filters, social distancing, and mask usage. In addition, all adults going indoors must be vaccinated.

Join us for Hybrid classes in SW at West Hills Covenant Church.

Fully Indoor Classes: Join us indoors this winter! We are committed to following these health and safety protocols indoors: reduced class sizes, larger classrooms where available, open windows and doors and good cross-ventilation, air purifiers with HEPA filters, social distancing, and mask usage. In addition, all adults attending indoor classes must be vaccinated.

Join us for Fully Indoor classes in NE at Fremont United Methodist Church, Central Lutheran Church, or Ready Set GROW Yoga and Dance Studio, and in SE at Moreland Presbyterian Church and Waverly Church.

How will Indoor and Hybrid classes work?

  • Classes will last 45 minutes.
  • All children attending class must be enrolled. No exceptions. Maximum 10 children per class, with smaller class sizes in smaller spaces. Only one adult per child may attend classes indoors.
  • Social Distancing All families will be spaced at least 6 feet apart on their family spot. We ask that all grown-ups help us by lovingly redirecting their children back to their family spot should they get too close to another family.
  • Masking Due to the Delta variant, masks will be required during class for all adults and children ages 2 and up. Please contact us with any questions or concerns regarding this policy.
  • Vaccinations All adults attending indoor classes must be vaccinated. Proof of vaccination must be brought to the first class. All Music Together of Portland teachers have been vaccinated.
  • Instruments We recommend that each family make their own "music class kit" containing something to shake (shaker eggs, maracas, a small container filled with rice), something to drum (a small drum, bowl, or box), something to click (spoons, rhythm sticks), and something to wave and float (scarves, dish towels, a t-shirt). Each class will have its own bin of play along instruments provided by Music Together of Portland, and all class bins will be sanitized by the teacher at the end of the day. No instruments will be shared between classes meeting on the same day.
  • All classes are closed to families not enrolled in the class. Make-ups, drop-ins, and trial classes will not be allowed in indoor classes. All registered families will receive access to Teacher Maggie's wonderful, interactive On Demand classes in lieu of make-ups. On Demand classes are available in our Family Portal to be enjoyed at your family's convenience! A limited number of make-ups will also be available in our online Zoom classes.
  • Before you leave home... Please do a quick health assessment and stay home if you or anyone living in your home is showing any of these symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, other respiratory symptoms, or any two of these symptoms: chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell.
  • Please stay home and contact us if you or anyone you've been in close contact with has been exposed to COVID-19. If there is a known exposure in a class, we will contact the Multnomah County Health Department and follow their current guidelines.
  • We will switch to online classes if Oregon State mandates change in current COVID-19 protocols.
  • There will be no refunds or credits due to classes moving online. No refunds given after the session begins.
  • During the registration process, 'Music Together® Indoors' families will be required to agree to our Terms and Conditions, including a Liability Waiver, in order to attend an indoor class. You are responsible for ensuring that any adult who brings your child to class has read and understood the policies, procedures, and waiver prior to attending class!

***Music Together of Portland reserves the right to modify and update policies according to CDC, state, and county guidelines as new information and guidance become available.
